Warzone 2.0 will be a sequel to the re-imagination of the mega-hit Battle Royale. With its release upon us, much information about the game has been released, and there are quite a few speculations on what to expect from this sequel. With all that has been released and the expectations from the game’s producers, it is not a stretch to say it has been the most anticipated game of 2022.
Warzone 2 Release Date, Platform, and Price
After the original Warzone made its debut on March 10, 2020, the release date of Call of Duty: Warzone II was announced to be November 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. GMT / 7 p.m. CET). With the release of Modern Warfare 2 just three weeks before, gamers will have enough time to get familiar with it before jumping into Al Mazrah.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will be released on the following platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will be free to play for everyone, and the player doesn’t need Modern Warfare 2 to play Warzone 2. Unlike its predecessor games, the players would not require membership to play Warzone II. However, users can buy the Warzone 2 Battle Pass if they want to spend extra cash. This can give them a better gaming experience.

Warzone 2 Changes and New Features
Warzone II will offer its players many new gameplay features and maps. There will be an introduction to new movement mechanics like swimming and fighting underwater. The Gulag is also back and will be played in 2v2. The circle in Warzone 2.0 will be split into three circles at the start, which will progress and reform into one at the end, where the remaining squads fight each other. New vehicle mechanics are also introduced where the player can lean out of the window to shoot, and the vehicle can react differently to ammunition based on its armor. The new game will also have 3rd person modes and new weapons like MAS-P, M13B, Victus XMR, etc. Proximity chats have also been introduced, meaning that any conversation you have using in-voice chats can be heard by those near you.
The map of Warzone II is based on a region in the Middle East called “Al Mazrah.” This means bidding farewell to the previous maps like Verdansk, Caldera, Rebirth Island, and Fortune’s Keep. It’s a fictional place set in an expansive desert area and includes a mix of geographical features, industries, and towns. There are 18 points of interest and a system of rivers that runs throughout the map. Some of the subsections of the regions are the Al-Bagra Fortress, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, and Sariff Bay.
What Happens to the Original Warzone?
With the excitement and uproar of the long-awaited new sequel, fans, especially veterans, are worried if this means the end for the original Warzone series. Fortunately, that is not the case! The sequel’s arrival will not mean the original game’s shutdown. Instead, Call of Duty: Warzone will be rebranded as Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera and will continue to be playable.

However, there will be brief transmission as the service will be updated for the rebranding. The launch plan of Warzone 2 includes a relaunch plan for the original game. This is how it will go: Call of Duty: Warzone will go offline at 11 a.m. EST on November 16, and just three hours later, at 1 p.m. EST, Warzone 2.0 will go online. Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera (the rebranded version) will be launched after the Thanksgiving holiday on November 28.
The issue of cosmetic items not being transferrable to the new sequel worried the fans. Unfortunately, this is true, but fear not! All veteran players of the game will get a particular benefit in the new Warzone 2. These items will remain in the renewed version of Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera. However, none of the old maps are coming to the new Warzone.
