Rumours have long suggested that PlayStation 5 Pro is under development and has a 2024 release window. And now, it looks like these speculations which were making rounds are indeed true. At least, this is what the release date of PlayStation 5 Pro suggests. Keep reading if you are excited to know more about this new PlayStation.
Playstation 5 Pro Release Date
According to the Insider Gaming website, PlayStation 5 Pro has a release window in late 2024. If true, gamers will see Playstation 5 Pro four years after the original PS5 console was launched. However, please note that there is no official release date. We expect an official announcement regarding this soon, as the release window is not that far behind.
Playstation 5 Pro: Specs
Let us now have a look at the specs of the PlayStation 5 Pro. But, again, you need to remember that the following details are based on speculation only.
Firstly, the job listing from the company indicates that Sony is looking for engineers to work on chipsets. Therefore, we expect a next-generation RDNA chipset in the upcoming consoles. Also, many reports suggest it will house the latest processor, including a removable disc drive.

Interestingly, we have also learned about a patent filed by Sony’s Mark Cerny. The patent is regarding a ray-tracing performance from a console, which will increase the graphics processor’s efficiency. The filing for the same looks highly technical. However, it indicates that Sony is looking forward to tweaking its hardware. Also, we know that the current models cannot accommodate this hardware change. Therefore, chances are high that this patent was filed for PlayStation 5 Pro.
At the time of writing, we are unsure whether the upcoming console will be available in two editions like its predecessor. Previously, PS5 supported two editions: one with a disc drive and the other without.

Lastly, gamers can expect an upgrade in the internal SSD to get more usable storage space. The PS5 had an 825 GB SSD, but only 667GB was reusable. If Sony considers the feedback that it has been receiving from gamers, we might see an increased space in the internal SSD.
A Look At The Design
The immediate talking point after the release of PS5 was its design, thanks to its white and black contrast that immediately drew attention. Large wingtips were another distinguishing feature of the look for both the digital edition and standard console version. The PS5 Pro will carry the same aesthetic as before. However, it would be interesting to see whether the size of the console increases or reduces, considering the fact that the PS5 is pretty huge.

Pricing
Gamers interested in Playstation 5 Pro might want to know the pricing of the upcoming console. The currently available PS5 is priced at $499. Despite its high price, gamers have purchased it, and the device is actually quite popular.
The PS4 Pro was priced at $100 more than the standard or base PS4. Therefore, we expect a similar price increase in the pro version of PS5. If this is the case, we expect the price of the upcoming console to be close to $599.
