Konami is working on the Silent Hill 2 remake PS5 and here’s everything you need to know about its release.
Silent Hill 2 initially came out in 2001, exclusively for PS2. It is considered as the best entry in the horror game franchise. Thus, it is no surprise that fans want a remake of the game for newer generation consoles! Fortunately, the producers have complied with their demands and Konami and developer Bloober Team are partnering to bring the remake to life!
The remake will feature a top-to-bottom recreation of the original title. It will include new voiceovers and music. Moreover, an over-the-shoulder camera perspective is also another new addition in the upcoming title!

Silent Hill 2 Remake PS5 Release Date
Silent Hill 2 is in the final stages of its development. Although we do not have an official release date as of yet, we expect the game to launch in 2023, exclusively on PS5 and PC via Steam.
During its Silent Hill Transmission livestream, Konami announced the release of Silent Hill 2 remake. However, they did not say much about its release date.
Piotr Babeno, the Bloober Team CEO, made some comments regarding the upcoming remake title recently. According to them, it is in the last stages of its development. However, Babeno did not specify how much work remains to be completed. He only confirmed that the title is in production since 2019.
Based on Babeno’s remarks, we can expect the Silent Hill 2 remake to hit stores sometime in 2023. If this is true then fans can expect to find our more details anout the game in the upcoming days. We are hoping that the Game Awards 2022, taking place in early December 2022, will reveal the release date for this thrilling new remake!
The Silent Hill 2 Remake Storyline and New Features
The original game focused on James Sunderland. He receives a letter from his dead wife asking him to come to Silent Hills as she is waiting for him there. The game tells James’ story as he confronts his guilty conscience and deals with the infamous monster Pyramid Head.
The remake will feature the same story and it will retain most of the key gameplay characteristics of the original title.
Moreover, the Silent Hill 2 remake PS5 will feature new detailed graphics and new music, along with a new, over-the-shoulder camera perspective.
The game’s composer, Akira Yamaoka, revealed that the upcoming remake will have new challenges, sound design and music!
Director Mateusz Lenart also added in a few comments saying,
“To put it simply, our goal is to make everything that made the game a timeless classic, but delve even deeper into the foggy streets of Silent Hill.”
The Silent Hill 2 Remake Trailer
A three minute long trailer for the Silent Hill 2 remake is out! It takes us back to the foggy town we’ve all come to love and dread.
It begins with a focused shot on a cockroach that gives us an idea of the impressive graphics in the remake. This scene is followed by the protagonist Sunderland looking into a mirror as a voiceover reveals his tragic story.
Furthermore, we get glimpses of Sunderland as he walks through the foggy streets of Silent Hills and of the infamous Pyramid Head. We can see the iconic monster hulking in the rain.
