Xbox is finally back in the game with numerous first-party releases. Undoubtedly, 2022 was a quiet time for Xbox, but thankfully, it is now gaining some momentum. Also, scheduled in late 2023, we have Forza Motorsport. However, along with the information about these releases, Xbox players are in for a treat! It is because Hellblade 2 was recently teased.
About Hellblade 2
Hellblade 2 is the sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, released in 2017. The game comes from the developer Ninja Theory. To date, we have encountered numerous behind-the-scenes videos for the game. Also, last year, the players were treated to a gameplay demonstration, and the excitement made fans wonder about the release date of the sequel.
Do We Have A Release Date For Hellblade 2?
Recently Xbox posted a new ad advertising the games available on Xbox Game Pass. The list includes these games:
- Lies of P
- Forza Motorsport
- Starfield
In addition to the games mentioned above, the ad also showed a clip from Hellblade 2, suggesting that Microsoft might have some plans to launch this highly anticipated game this very year. However, we do not have a definite release date.

Also, including the game in the list might be a marketing tactic to create more hype around the game. Interestingly, Avowed and Fable, first-party games are not included in the list. Therefore, there is a possibility that the release date for Hellblade 2 lies ahead of these games.
Furthermore, until now, neither Ninja Theory nor Xbox has commented about including Hellblade 2 in the ad. Therefore, we must wait to know what the advertisement was about and if the game will release in 2023.
When Can We Further Expect More News Regarding Hellblade 2?
We might get more information regarding Hellblade 2 during the Xbox Games Showcase. The event is scheduled to take place on 11 June. Unfortunately, not much information is available regarding the event at present.
The recently released Redfall has the lowest review for a AAA game this year. It indicates that Xbox really needs to pull up their socks for the event scheduled in June.

Hellblade 2 was first announced in December 2019 during The Game Awards. The announcement took place alongside the information about Xbox Series X. Later, in December 2021, again during The Game Awards, publisher Xbox and developer Ninja Theory treated the audience with the first gameplay trailer. Since then, there has been no news regarding the game. However, after much anticipation, we have finally now stumbled on a sneak peek into Hellblade 2 again.

Trailer For The Game
Ninja Theory released an extended trailer for the game back in 2021. The trailer indicates that the gamers are in for a powerful game. In the trailer, we saw Senua leading a group failing to trap a giant. It was both horrifying and breathtaking to watch it. We then saw a plan to set a spear and fire while the majestic creature crawled towards Senua. Of course, the sequel carries elements of the original game.
