HBO Max has come up with a new surprise as they recently gave a release window for And Just Like That season 2. The Sex and City spin-off series renewal status changed back in March 2022. However, the network never confirmed when fans could expect it.
But now, in a small teaser released on August 21, 2022, HBO Max has announced that fans can expect And Just Like That season 2 to release in 2023. The teaser didn’t just focus on the spin-off series but also featured glimpses of other tv shows such as The Last of Us, The Idol, The White Lotus, Love and Death, and many more. The main purpose of it is to highlight all the tv shows that viewers can expect to see in 2023. And thankfully, our favourite show has made it to the list. Unfortunately, though, we only know that the second season will be released in 2023 for now as no official date and month have been announced. And according to us, if everything goes as planned, then fans can expect to see the upcoming season in mid-2023. Yay!
Now that the premiere date is off the table, here are a few more details about And Just Like season 2 that we are sure you would love to know.
Has filming begun?
Back in June 2022, Nicole Ari Parker said that filming would probably begin after labour day. However, this didn’t actually happen. And now, Michael Patrick King confirmed in an interview with Variety that production would begin in October 2022.
And Just Like That Season 2 Cast
While we wait for HBO or one of the creators to announce the official cast list, we know for a fact that the OGs will be returning. This includes:
- Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw
- Cynthia Nixon as Miranda
- Kristin Davies as Charlotte
- Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley
- Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel
- Mario Cantone as Anthony Marentino
- Karen Pittman as Dr. Nya Wallace
Besides these, John Corbett will probably be making a comeback. He will play the role of Aidan Shaw, aka Carrie’s ex-fiancé from Sex and The City. The deadline was the first one to share this news. Additionally, the outlet has also said that Corbett won’t be returning for just one episode. In fact, his role will be recurring, meaning we might get to see Carrie and Aidan explore their relationship once again.
Ivan Hernandez will take on the role of Franklyn once again. Viewers might even get to see Sarah Ramirez once again take on the role of Che Diaz, and hopefully, the producers have something interesting in store for her. We aren’t quite sure, but David Eigenberg might return as Steve.
In addition to these, new cast members will also join the series. But we do not know their names yet, and as soon as we get an update on that, we will let you know.
And Just Like That Season 2 Plot
The spin-off series is a perfect blend of reminiscing old memories and making new ones as viewers get to see their favourite Carrie Bradshaw take on adulthood. There’s no doubt that details regarding the synopsis of this season will be kept a secret, just like it was done for the first season. But, there are a few things we are hoping will be explored in the upcoming season, especially after everything we saw in the first one.
Season 2 will focus on Che and Miranda’s relationship and how they overcome the new hurdles, they will come across. Also, we are sure the writers have some big news to share regarding Charlotte in the second season.
Furthermore, now that Carrie is single and ready to date. It will be exciting to see who she ends up with. We all saw her recover from her husband’s death in the previous season. We all saw all the events that led to her kiss with Franklyn. But is there more to it, or was it just a one-time thing? Moreover, will Carrie continue giving advice through her podcast? And whose life will she next touch? Finding the answers to all these questions and many more in season 2 will be for sure exciting.

There is no official trailer for the new season yet. But that’s just because filming will begin in late 2022, and the season won’t be released until 2023. Moreover, a small teaser by HBO Max has been recently released, but it doesn’t give out any specific details.
