Apple’s Vision Pro is now taking a backseat to the next big alleged Apple device, the Apple Watch X. Interestingly, this year also marks the 10th anniversary of Apple revealing its smartwatch version to the world. Just like it’s common for rumors to circulate before any big reveal, there is news about Watch X as well. As we saw in the case of Vision Pro, many rumors proved true. If you plan on purchasing it, you should familiarize yourself with its features.
Apple’s Watch series has always been eminent as a health and fitness device. Hence, it is easy to tell that the company will focus on improving these features more to cater to a broader audience. And a better display will only add to its plus points.
The Apple Watch X May Adopt a New Design
Ever since the inception of the Apple Watch, the models haven’t made any significant changes to their design. Considering that Watch X will come after the 10th year mark, people can anticipate something new. This happened with the iPhone X. Following the 10th year mark, models after the iPhone X had significant changes, like the absence of the home screen button and the new camera design at the back.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to make a leaner design by changing how the bands are attached. The bands are attached by sliding them into the edges of the chassis. We could get magnetic bands that will offer ease for the user.
It has been quite a while since we heard about Apple adding a microLED display to its Watch series. Compared with the current OLED screens of the Apple Watch, microLED is brighter and more responsive. And to top it all off, it’s also energy efficient. But here’s the truth: according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, consumers will not get this feature in 2024. They might have to wait until 2025 or even beyond that.

New Health Features in Watch X
This is one area of expertise where Apple could outdo itself. With every design, there’s a new update in the health tech features. Hence, it makes sense to expect something better.
In the previous models, we have seen how the Watch has catered to the needs of cyclists and runners with features like temperature sensing. Since Apple watches are famous as a health, fitness, and wellness device, they will have something new to offer. One such alleged feature is notifying the person when their blood pressure is high. Given the constraints, it cannot give the proper systolic and diastolic measurements. However, it will help maintain a blood pressure journal. This news came via Bloomberg.
A common way of checking blood glucose levels is by pricking the finger and testing a drop of blood. But what if we tell you that Watch X may do this for the patients with the minimum effort? Even though it is not officially confirmed, the device is said to be able to check the patient’s blood glucose levels using infrared and other sensors.
Apple still needs to win the race regarding sleep-tracking features compared to other smartwatches. There’s plenty of room for the tech giant to improve. Apparently, Apple is gearing up to introduce a new system that detects sleep apnea by recording an individual’s sleeping and breathing patterns.
Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 are not being shipped in the US with the blood-oxygen monitoring feature. This is solely because of the patent dispute. Hence, it’s hard to determine whether Watch X will have the feature.
The Apple Watch Ultra’s Action Button in the Apple Watch X
The action button proved quite valuable for fitness enthusiasts. With just a single push, they could launch an app or start their fitness routine. Could Apple be interested in introducing the feature to non-Ultra models to push its popularity? It’s debatable!
With that being said, of course, whenever Apple decides to launch the Watch X, it will be promising for Apple users. They will introduce new and better features. However, the users must first wait for the Apple Watch X’s confirmation.
And that wraps up most of the rumors about the Apple Watch X. Even though most of these features sound practical, it is still advisable to wait until Apple makes the official announcement.
