It has been two years since Tom Parker died. His wife, Kelsey Parker, wrote a lengthy tribute on her Instagram post and is constantly raising awareness about his cause of death through charity events.

Kelsey Parker Tribute to the Late Husband, Tom Parker

Kelsey Parker, 33, laments the loss of her husband’s tragic demise. She took to Instagram to express her sentiments about Tom Parker’s second death anniversary:

“Can’t believe it’s been two years. Feels like only yesterday that you left us, but I feel like I’ve been on my own for a long time now and so much has changed since you were here. I know you’d be so proud of everything we’ve achieved.”

The post included a montage of pictures of the couple and their children. They share two children: a four-year-old daughter, Aurelia Rose, and a three-year-old son, Bodhi Thomas.

In the bittersweet post, Kelsey Parker tried holding herself together. She said she was proud of herself and the way she had handled their children without his presence. But she wished Tom Parker was there to commend her for her efforts.

The long post emanated her raw and authentic sentiments surrounding her late partner’s death. She wished he was there to embrace her and celebrate her milestones together. Kelsey Parker also said that people told her that the second year is the hardest and that she’ll survive anything if she makes it through this.

Yet she expressed how she kept feeling weaker than she had ever felt before. In the heartbreaking tribute to Tom Parker, Kelsey also discussed the inevitable questions a child asks about a lost parent. She commented, “I just need you here to help me answer them.”

She concluded the tribute by addressing Tom Parker as “My Tommy Boy Forever” and promising to keep missing and loving him forever.

Parker talked about her late husband at another event called Together For Short Lives Ball. She said grief is a funny thing and that she has to live each day as it comes. But things get more challenging for her whenever March comes around.

Tom Parker’s Cause of Death

Tom Parker was diagnosed with glioblastoma in October 2020. He had a stage four brain tumor, and he was undergoing treatment. He disclosed the news through his Instagram account.

“Hey guys, you know that we’ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks and it’s time to tell you why. There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumor and I’m already undergoing treatment.” Tom Parker’s spirits seemed high when he said he was devastated by the news but will try fighting it till the end. He also promised to raise awareness about the common type of brain tumor.

Spreading Awareness of Glioblastoma

Glioblastoma is a common brain tumor and tends to spread aggressively. Hence, it is often diagnosed at grade IV, the highest grade of tumor, according to the WHO.

Unfortunately, Tom Parker was also diagnosed at the fourth stage. Genetic mutations cause the tumor. Thus, genetic testing can help with an earlier diagnosis.

Treatment options include surgery, radiotherapy, and alkylating chemotherapy. Kelsey Parker is tirelessly continuing her efforts to spread awareness of glioblastoma. She plans to host a charity football match on Father’s Day, June 16, 2024, at Bromley Football Club. The charity event will help raise money and spread awareness about glioblastoma.

Last year, the same event hosted notable personalities who played on the field to raise funds. It included Jake Quickenden, Ryan, and Scott Thomas. Kelsey gives inkling to bring in more prominent names to honor Tom Parker’s second death anniversary this year. Kelsey’s mission is to raise more funds for research on the illness that affects nearly 2,500 people every year.

Moreover, she is working on highlighting the severity of the cancer. She said in an interview that glioblastoma affects more adults under 40 than other more known tumors such as leukemia, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. Yet, it gets minimal government funding.

Hence, Kelsey Parker is making a commendable effort while keeping Tom Parker’s memory alive. Tom Parker is no longer with us, but his untimely death helped shed light on this aggressive form of brain tumor.
