After the release of the 5th installment of Lucifer, Netflix canceled the show. But the fans got the streaming site to somehow continue with the series. A few weeks back the series was renewed for a 6th season. And the enthusiastic fandom which hasn’t streamed the 6th iteration yet, started questioning about the renewal status of the 7th season. So, now the most important question is: are the writers willing to continue with Lucifer’s story? Did the finale of the latest season hint at Lucifer Season 7? Let’s find out!
The 6th season was renewed only because of the uproar that the fans caused on social media. But also because the showrunner, Henderson, felt like fans deserved a better ending to their favorite show. Hence, Lucifer’s story will be conclusively continued in the 6th season; meaning that there might not be a 7th season. But miracles do happen, and we are waiting for one!
Although we don’t have any reliable resources to quote from or any Easter eggs from Netflix we still have analyzed the chances of Lucifer Season 7 happening. If you wish to know more about the 7th installment of Lucifer, continue reading the article.
So, without any further delay let’s get the ball rolling!
Lucifer Season 7 Release Date
Lucifer’s 6th season has not gone on air yet. It is scheduled to release on 10th September. So, we can’t say anything definite about Lucifer Season 7’s release date.
However, a piece of bad news for fans because Netflix has made it very clear that the upcoming season of Lucifer will be the last one to ever come. So, this cancels out all the possibilities for the 7th season. But nothing to fret about because previously too Netflix has renewed shows after they were cancelled.
Moreover, if the upcoming 6th season gets exceptional response from the audience then this might change the showrunner’s decision. But for that we’ll have to wait for a very long time. One more important factor is the finale of the 6th season which is yet to be released. If the 6th season ended on a major cliffhanger then we have high hopes of getting a 7th season.
But as Netflix has not greenlit the 7th installment yet it is better to not keep any expectations until the 6th season goes on air!
Cast
As mentioned earlier, Lucifer Season 7 is not confirmed yet. So, there is no official line-up for the cast either. And without any credible resources we can’t predict major cast changes. Moreover, the cast for the 7th season also depends on the storyline of the upcoming season 6.
Once the 6th installment releases and we get to know who died in the show or if there are any departures we’ll update this site at the earliest. So, stay tuned! With that being said, the potential cast members for Lucifer Season 7 include:
- Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar
- Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin
- Kevin Alejandro as Detective Daniel “Dan” Espinoza
- Tricia Helfer as “Mum”
- Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez
- Tom Welling as Lieutenant Marcus Pierce
- Lauren German as Detective Chloe Decker
- D. B. Woodside as Amenadiel
- Kevin Rankin as Detective Malcolm Graham
- Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen
- Scarlett Estevez as Beatrice “Trixie” Espinoza
- Inbar Lavi as Eve
If everything works out and Netflix announces the renewal of the 7th season then expect the confirmed cast members list to come out 6 to 7 months before the show’s official premiere!

Lucifer Season 7 Trailer
Unfortunately, we don’t have any trailer for the 6th season yet, let alone the teaser/trailer for the 7th installment. And as Netflix has no intentions of continuing with the show you don’t have to worry about it either.
But don’t be disappointed! Because when shows end, the showrunners usually come up with “spin-offs” which mostly focus on individual characters. So, even though the show will end, the story can continue. And as soon as any such announcement will be made we’ll let you know at the soonest!
