Studio Ufotable has many anime and gaming projects planned for 2026 and beyond. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is one of its biggest series, and fans have been eagerly waiting for the next movie in the Infinity Castle trilogy. However, it looks like they will have to wait a little longer than expected.
Studio Ufotable Releases New Promotional Video
In its new official promotional video, Ufotable revealed its “future projects” releases. As per the video, most of 2026 footage focuses on Witch on the Holy Night, which is based on Type-Moon’s visual novel of the same name. The video also mentions that Infinity Castle Part 1 will stay longer in Japanese theaters, with special IMAX and ScreenX versions.
When Will Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2 Release?
While the exact release date hasn’t been revealed, the studio listed the film in its “Future Projects” instead of a 2026 release, suggesting that fans may have to wait until 2027 at the earliest for the next movie.
A Worthwhile Wait!
The wait for part 2 makes sense, as the first film is still performing well in theatres, and a lot of work is needed to ensure the next film’s success.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba may end with this trilogy, as it shows the final battles against Muzan Kibutsuji. Since these battles are imoortant, the creators would need more time to get everything right.
Infinity Castle Part 1 Box Office Collection
If we go by the box office numbers, the next two Demon Slayer movies have a lot to live up to. According to reports, as of February 20, 2026, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle Part 1 has earned about $778.9 million worldwide. As of January 2026, the film’s domestic collection is approximately 39.14 billion yen (or US$252.5M).
The film was also a huge success in Japan, finishing 2025 as the country’s second-highest-grossing domestic film of all time.
