Their character details are not properly known. So, we’ll have to wait for more trailers or for the show to release. However the stellar cast is coming to rule the screens, that is for sure!

Plot

Midnight Mass is written by Mike Flanagan, Kate Siegal, Anna Beth Gish, and Alex Issoe. The 7 part series will explore the genre of horror just like the previous Mike’s projects.the official plot synopsis for the show is given below:

“Midnight Mass tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community – but do these miracles come at a price?”

The inhabitants of Crocket Island already have problems to deal with and these problems get worse after the arrival of 2 people; one is a mysterious priest (Father Paul played by Hamish Linklater) and the other one is a young man (Matt Saracen played by Zach Gilford). As the priest comes to the land the people become religious but just when this sudden change happens, the island becomes prone to catastrophes.

Main Theme of Midnight Mass

The main theme of the story is “faith”. Something which almost every being on earth has but the director has given a good plot twist to this element. And Mike himself has admitted that Midnight Mass is very close to his heart. In an interview he said:

“As a former altar boy, about to celebrate 3 years of   sobriety, it’s not hard to see what makes this so personal. The ideas at the root of this show scare me to my core.”

“There is darkness air work on Crockett Island. Some of it is supernatural, but the scariest is born of human nature. The darkness that animates this story isn’t hard to see in our own world, unfortunately.”

“But this show is about something else as well.. faith itself. One of the great mysteries of human nature. How even in the darkness, in the worst of it, in the absence of light — and hope — we sing,”

Some keen fans focused on the word “sing” because in the sentence it doesn’t make any sense. However no one was able to get to the core of it so we are left with no choice but to wait till September!
