ROHNY, i.e., Real Housewives of New York City, faced a finale disaster in season 13, and after that, speculations surrounded the ROHNY season 14. Reports suggest that the show is on a two-month hiatus. Moreover, the rumors about the show’s cancellation only added fuel to the fire. Longtime fans were upset with the series to take on season 13 and are calling for the firing of Ramona Singer, who refuses to show up for the Season 13 Reunion.
ROHNY is an American reality television series following the lives of women residing in New York. It is the second installment in The Real Housewives franchise. While fans are curious to see who is returning and who is leaving (or presumably getting fired), many now want a cast to shake up in hopes that it will improve the following season.
ROHNY Season 14: Who’s Returning For The New Season?
Several outlets are reporting that Bravo, the cable network, is offering some cast, namely, Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, and Sonja Morgan, the roles of ‘friends’ in RHONY Season 14. In fact, several of the longest-running cast members are facing demotions.
The Bravo network and its producers are certainly adhering to costs and seem determined to save the show. But, so far, only one of the women offered the ‘friends’ role has gone with the idea for Season 14.
The radical shifting of roles has left fans wondering what will come next or if it is time for the show to bow out while it can, not with much dignity, though. The show definitely needs to find a new footing with the viewership and ratings going down downhill.
When Will ROHNY Season 14 Air?
Several news outlets confirm that the Season 13 Reunion will begin filming this September. Because according to previous reports August was the month expected for the beginning of the season’s production.
Moreover, according to the sources, season 14 won’t start filming until early 2022. A rumor circulated as well of the show going on an extended pause after the initial two-month break. Well, it’s not exactly mood-lifting news for the fans. However, the new shift in the production date is well past the usual time. So it looks like it may not premiere until late 2022.
Some fans are blaming the show’s fall from grace on the feud that occurred recently. However, considering the number of tabloids covering this story, most of them are spreading misinformation. Therefore, keep on reading our blog and find out what really happened!
What Was The ROHNY Controversy Really About?
According to a news outlet, the show producers were already considering firing Ramona because her salary was too high. Moreover, fans were also tired of ‘the white lady and first world problems’ narrative. The Daily Mail, however, had the opposite idea and blamed Eboni. They accused her of leaking a false story about Ramona. In the rumor, Ramona was planning to leave the show and move on to other projects. The outlet claimed that Eboni did it to get her co-star fired.
Though, it seems that if anyone is to replace the wives, if they are considering replacing them, a potential candidate will be Carolina Bermudez. She, in turn, has been suspiciously vague when asked about ROHNY.
Now, let’s move on to the actual feud, shall we? With the resurgence of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, which began in 2020, Eboni has been outing her colleagues (particularly Ramona) on their microaggression in the show. Many articles blame her for the show’s drop in ratings, saying that ‘the housewife’s teachable moments’ cost the show. This sounds more like the whiney fans with their unbelievable expectations.
In retaliation, Eboni pointed out that the decision of leaving those scenes in the show was of the producers and not within her control. But it’s still unclear what they were hoping for? Did they think that the topic would draw in more fans because of what was happening in the real world? However, whatever might be the case, blaming an actress for doing her job is unfair and out of line.
All in all, things are looking pretty bad for ROHNY at the moment! So, fans it’s better that we keep our fingers crossed, and hope for the best!
